Raspberry is currently perusing the pages of Cecilia’s Tale by Debbie Manber Kupfer with art by Victoria Szulc. She’s following along as the Cecilia the cat journeys through the streets of Jerusalem in search of a new home and a new human. The question is whether she’ll find the right one because she’s heard that humans can be very difficult to train.
Especially interesting to Raspberry is that Cecilia’s Tale is inspired by the true story from the author of The P.A.W.S. Saga and Esmeralda Grunch and the Red Tulip. She also quite enjoys the homophone in the title, as Raspberry’s a sucker for clever wordplay.
Debbie Manber Kupfer grew up in the East London suburb of Barking (which Raspberry found ironic considering the protagonist in her book), but today lives in St. Louis, Missouri where she divides her time between writing fiction and writing puzzles. She’s the author of the YA fantasy series, P.A.W.S. and the puzzle book, P.A.W.S. 4 Logic. She believes that with enough tea and dark chocolate you can achieve anything.
